L'Arc de Triomphe (the arch of triumph) was constructed in the same period as the Place Stanislas,
in honour of Ludwig XV. This monumental gate was build right in the middle of the city wall that
separated the old and the new parts of town. It reminds us of the Roman arches, that were made
by the emperors, specially the one of Septimus Severus in Rome.
