Picture of the month: "Back to the promised land"
In May 2010 two Taifuns made a journey from Germany to Haifa (Israel) and back and amongst others visited the famous sit of Masada, as you may have read in the flight report.
Plans are to go back to Israel, by special invitation of the Israeli Taifun friends of 4X-GMF, stationed at Megido airport (LLMG).
Main goal this time: Eilat, Israel's southernmost city and well know tourist resort on the Red Sea coast. Also a trip to Aqaba in Jordan will be part of the trip.
As usual we will try to have a pseudo-live flight report with daily updates during the flight that, if all goes according to plans will take place in May 2012. See you then !

on this site we would like to bring together Taifun 17E and EII motorglider lovers in order to share experiences.
Of course all other motorglider lovers are very welcome too.

As most flightreports are originally written in German, we thought it would be a pitty if non-German speaking visitors were not able to read them, so we try to translate each flight report into English too. The English translations can be found by clicking on the U.K.-flag in these articles.

By the way, principally this website is being maintained by only two persons: Henk (the flying Dutchman) Dumont, pilot and Taifun 17 E II owner, and Leo LLama, fulltime mathteacher at an agricultural school. There's no need to say that it is virtually impossible to make weekly updates and new stories on this website without the help of other people, pilots and story-writers.
Sometimes our readers are disappointed (and of course we can only agree) when there's no news on the website for more than a month.
If you are such a reader, don't hesitate, write on your own experiences (Taifun-related, motorglider-related or any other stuff YOU think is of any interest to the readers of the powerglidertaifun.de website). We'll be happy to publish it on the website. We only got four hands and there's no more than 24 hours a day...
Even very short stories with pictures are more than welcome!

Lieber Besucher,
auf dieser Website möchte ich Freunde des Motorseglers Taifun (17E und EII) zusammenbringen, um Erfahrungen auszutauschen. Natürlich sind auch alle anderen (Motorsegler) Flugbegeisterten willkommen.

Um möglichst viele Freunde des Taifun aus aller Welt zu erreichen, werden wir in Zukunft die ursprünglich meistens in deutsch geschriebene Flugberichte auch in englisch präsentieren.

Übrigens wird diese Webside zur Zeit im Wesentlichen nur von 2 Personen gestaltet und gepflegt: Henk Dumont (dem fliegenden Holländer) als Piloten und Besitzer einer Taifun 17 E II und Leo LLama einem vollberuflich tätigen Mathematiklehrer an einer Landwirtschaftschule. Es ist nicht notwendig zu sagen, dass es ohne die Hilfe weiterer von der Fliegerei begeisterter Personen nicht möglich ist, wöchentlich Neuigkeiten zu veröffentlichen.

Manchmal sind unsere Leser enttäuscht - und wir sind es auch -, wenn innerhalb eines Monats nichts Neues erscheint.

Falls Du auch eine so ein Leser bist, solltest Du nicht zögern, über Deine eigenen Erfahrungen zu berichten (Taifun oder Motorsegler bezogen oder auch nur über einen Stoff von den DU glaubst, er könnte für einen Besucher der Website powerglidertaifun.de von Interesse sein). Wir haben nur 4 Hände und jede Hilfe ist willkommen. Wir freuen uns über jeden Bericht mit Bildern, den wir auf der Webside veröffentlichen können – und sei er noch so kurz.

Lasst uns unsere Taifuns fliegen lassen. Lasst uns alle diese Homepage auf dem neuesten Stand halten.
