In the summer of 2004 three Taifun motorgliders went on a trip from Northern Germany to Leknes on the Lofoten islands in Norway.
Participants were D-KFDI (Henk and Elly Dumont), D-KLUW (Urs and Ursel Westfahl) and D-KKGG (Manfred and Gabi Garben).
Below you can see a chart showing the trip.

On the left (blue line) the trip to the Lofoten, a group of islands in the northern part of Norway.
We started at Lübeck airport (Northern Germany) on June 20th 2004.

The journey brought us via Denmark and Sweden to Leknes, Lofoten's capital city.

Places of (overnight) stops were Söderhamn (SE), Kiruna (SE), Leknes (N), Bodø (N), Alesund/Vigra (N), Haugesund (N) and Notodden (N).

10 Days later, on June 30th 2004, after a total flight distance of almost 5000 km, we arrived at Lübeck again.

The news that a foreign group of powergliders was about to visit the Lofoten, reached the islands before we did, so by surprise we were interviewed by Lofot-Tidende, the local newspaper.
