The Swedish
Eskilstuna Flygklubb at Ekeby airfield is home to one of the most
remarkable Taifun motorgliders in the world; we are talking about SE-UCA,
a Taifun 17EII.
In fact, it's a unique motorglider since it's the only Taifun 17EII
in the world capable of towing another glider!
To
do so, the usual 90 hp engine that once powered this motorglider
has been replaced by a water cooled Rotax 115 hp engine.
To almost anyone of us, Sweden is a bit out of reach for watching
SE-UCA live, but thanks to its owners (Daniel Pettersson, Inger
Westling, Pekka Havbrandt, Sakari Havbrandt and Tomas Hammarbäck)
a Youtube movie has been put online so we can all watch this special
Taifun.
